Fu Jen University Scholarship Regulations for International Students

New Students

Objective
The scholarships are established in concert with government policies to enhance the recruitment of international students and to increase the enrollment of outstanding international students in the FJU programs.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be prospective students and must have submitted a formal application to enroll in a program at the University in accordance with the regulations outlined in the Admission Brochure for International Students of Fu Jen Catholic University.

Application Period
Same as the period for online admissions application as indicated in the Admission Brochure for International Students of Fu Jen Catholic University.

Application Documents
1. One copy of the application form.
2. Other supplementary documents, such as Chinese or English language proficiency test scores, proof of awards from international competitions, and/or proof of works published. Please provide Chinese or English translations of any documents written in other languages.

Scholarship Conditions, Amount and Disbursement
Undergraduate and Master's Degree Programs
Recipients are entitled to receive scholarship funds for four consecutive semesters, at a total of NT$50,000 per semester. After the recipient has formally registered for the semester, the funds shall be disbursed in monthly installments of NT$10,000.


Doctoral Degree Programs
Recipients are entitled to receive scholarship funds for a maximum of eight consecutive semesters after initial enrollment. Tuition and miscellaneous fees for each semester are waived or reduced, and a stipend of NT$50,000 is awarded to supplement living expenses. After the recipient has formally registered for the semester, the stipend is disbursed in monthly installments of NT$10,000.

Current Students

Objective
This scholarship was established, in accordance with the Regulations on the Provision of Scholarships to International Students in Colleges, Universities, and their Affiliated Chinese Language Educational Institutions formulated by the Ministry of Education, to commend outstanding international students.

Eligibility Criteria
1. Applicants must be formally enrolled international students (not including students from Hong Kong, Macau, and Mainland China; overseas Chinese students; exchange students; or dual/joint degree students), and shall have studied at the University for no less than one semester, and shall have received a conduct grade of not less than 80% in the previous semester. Applicants mustalso fulfill the following requirements:

  • Undergraduate students in bachelor’s degree programs must have completed in the previous semester the required number of credits stipulated in the FJU Course Selection Regulation, and must have maintained a grade average of 70% or above.
  • Graduate students in both master's degree and doctoral programs must have completed at least 3 credits in the previous semester and maintained a grade average of 75% or above

2. Applicants must have attended classes regularly, and must not have been absent for more than one-fifth of the total number of course hours for all registered classes.

3. Applicants must hold a valid student visa.

4. Applicants must not be in receipt of any other scholarships or financial aid.

Application Period
The scholarship is open for application twice every academic year, in late October and late March. Actual dates are as announced by the Office of International Education (OIE). Applications received after the deadline will not be accepted.

Application Documents
1. One copy of the application form;
2. One original copy of the applicant's full academic transcript in Chinese (Transcripts for undergraduate and first-year master's degree students must also indicate class ranking.)
3. One letter of recommendation from a professor;
4. Other supplementary documents, such as proof of participation in extracurricular activities, proof of awards received in competitions, and/or proof of paper published (only if applicable).

Scholarship Amount  
The amount awarded to each recipient at any one time shall be NT$50,000.
